MEDIApro shoots of "I dream", the series for the new pop group S Club 8
More than 800 extras take part in the production

The shooting of the new series "I dream" is underway starring the newly formed pop group S Club 8. The group is made up by Aaron, Calvin, Daisy, Frankie, Hannah, Jay, Rochelle and Stacey, eight teenagers between the ages of 13 and 17 all looking to be pop stars.

The MEDIApro group is providing all the production equipment and their considerable expertise for the British record company, 19, series "I dream". The shooting of this 13-episode fiction series got underway on 27th April and will last until 30th June. The plot of "I dream" revolves around an academy called Avalon School, where the characters learn how to dance, sing, but above all how to get on with and respect other people from different backgrounds and cultures.

The eight group members are joined by the well-known American actor Christopher Lloyd, a veteran of over a hundred films. He has played roles such as professor Emmet Brown in "Back to the future", the sweet and sinister Fester in "The Addams Family", or Uncle Martin, the Martian whose strange habits drove Jeff Daniels crazy in "My favourite Martian".

In addition, former spice girl Emma Bunton also takes part in the series together with six English actors, who take some of the main roles and with all of them coming to Barcelona for the shooting. Casting was also carried out here in Spain to choose other resident English speaking actors. The cast is completed with about 800 extras that have been chosen from a range of dance schools.

The shooting of the series will be done in a variety of different locations in Barcelona province. The Pías Schools in Alella is where the academy scenes will be shot and to this end a range of different sets have been built which include the dining room, the music room, the dance room, the bedrooms, the dressing room, and the theatre. The changes have not only affected the inside of the building but there have also been modifications to the garden and the lake. Since the filming there last year of Pedro Almodovar’s new film "La Mala Educación", no other productions have been carried out at the school.

Sitges will also have a significant role in the plot of "I dream", with glamorous scenes shot in luxurious cliff-top apartments.

John Agoglia and Gayla Aspinall, from the British company 19, are also involved in the production, and Bernat Elías is the production manager from MEDIApro.

Among the technical highlights to be used during the filming are digital betacam cameras, steadycam, underwater cameras, cranes. as well as advanced sound equipment for the play back production. An average of a hundred people, including actors and technicians, are taking part every day in the filming. The editing will be done at Montaje de Mozart installations, a MEDIApro group company specializing in post-production.
